Stopovers - ETHIOPIA. Danakil Desert

The Danakil desert offers varied landscapes, from the most inhospitable and bare zones to almost bucolic oases where flows the palm wine. It’s a 12-hour travel on a bad trail - more exactly an off-piste travel – between the lake Karoum and the volcano Erta Ale, separated by 70 kilometres as the crow flies. 12 hours by dry weather.

Moments of meetings, vital bonds around wells, which water we shall filter and process; more cultural contacts like the welcome in the “staff room” of the teachers working in the surrounded semi nomad hamlets.
